Medical Emergency Plan

This page contains an action plan for medical emergencies appropriate to our community based club.  ATC does not have a dedicated first aid member and cannot guarantee that a trained first aider will be present at all club activities.

The coach holds a Level II First Aid Certificate and is present for all coaching sessions at ATC.

First Aid Kits

  • in the kitchen of the clubhouse above the refrigerator
  • a defibrillator located outside the clubhouse on the west wall

Incident Report Forms are with the First Aid Kit.

There is no telephone at ATC.

In the event of injury or illness

1. Provide immediate care of the injured or ill person.

2. Ascertain if there is a qualified first aid person present to attend to the injured person and provide initial first aid.

3. If immediate medical care is required call for an ambulance (phone 000):

  • Provide clear instructions for the ambulance including age, gender, nature of injury or illness.
  • Have someone remain with the injured person, and some to open gates and greet the ambulance on Mitchell Street.
  • If basic life support is needed collect the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) from the west wall of the clubhouse.  Only trained persons should operate the AED.
  • Continue to provide support and first aid until the ambulance arrives.

4. Make contact with next of kin if necessary - committee members have access to relevant contact details via Clubspark's membership module.

5. Complete an incident form contained in the first aid kit.

Away Games

If an injury or medical emergency occurs at another site where a ATC team is playing, be guided by the home club medical emergency plan or follow the guidelines set out above.
