Playing Tennis
There are so many ways to get involved and play tennis at Ainslie.
If you want to start playing competitively, Ainslie enters teams into weekly pennant competitions. While these Club versus Club matches are competitive in nature, they are also a fun and social way to meet people all over Canberra.
Alternatively, if you want to get out and start hitting but don’t belong to the club, Sunday Social is a perfect way to start. Scheduled for Sunday afternoons (mornings during daylight savings), many members get outring two hours of enjoyable play for a hit, ensure (both doubles and singles). Sunday Social is open to members and non-members, female and male, adult, senior, and junior players.
In addition to Sunday Social, one of our group offerings is the Racqueteers. Usually hitting on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the Racqueteers know that Tennis is a game for life! The core of this group is senior players, with the oldest members being well into their 80s. But it is also suitable for adult beginners and those returning to the game after many years. All you need to do is show up with a racquet!
For those older persons looking for a competitive hit-up playing doubles, the Club also offers the StillB's. The StillBs play on Friday mornings and rotate players around two courts if numbers on the day permit.
There are so many ways to get out and have a hit at Ainslie! Just turn up to the style of social tennis that suits you and join in.
