Court Rules

Rules for use of the Courts

  • Footwear on the courts must be flat-soled tennis shoes.
  • Courts used are to be swept with the flat, black, plastic bagger at the completion of each court booking so they are in good condition for the next court users.
  • Ensure that the court gate and toilet doors are closed and locked prior to leaving.
  • Courts are not to be used in wet weather as this could damage the courts and/or risk injury to players. A refund of the booking fee will be provided in such cases. Please advise by email to WesleyTennisClub@gmail.com if this affects a booking you have made.

Dogs

Dogs and other pets are not permitted on the tennis courts themselves, including because any “accidents” would generate an unbearable smell, making the courts unusable because the courts have a sand filler.

Dogs are allowed on the grassed area near the tennis courts, between the first court and the buildings, or on other outside areas of the church property ONLY if, at all times, they are:

  • on leads;
  • accompanied by, and under the control of, a responsible adult (including when the owner is on court);
  • not allowed anywhere near children, no matter how friendly they seem to be.

The owner (or other responsible adult) must clean up fully after his/her dog and ensure that there is no damage to church property or to people.

Guide dogs and other recognised assistance dogs are permitted at any time.
