Entry Level & Coloured Ball Tournament:
Entries are now open for our Junior Entry Level & Coloured Ball Tournament. This tournament will commence on Friday the 12th & finish on Sunday the 14th of June. Friday will be the Entry Level (modified) divisions & Saturday & Sunday will be our Coloured Ball (traditional) divisions. Entries are now open via the link below.
Tournament Details:
Entry-Level, Red & Orange:
- Friday 12th June, 4:00–7:30 PM
Coloured Ball, Orange & Green:
- Saturday 13th (afternoon session) – Sunday 14th (morning session) June. Players only need to attend their designated match times which will be available online.
Location:
- Tennis Palmerston – 16 Bonson Terrace, Moulden, NT 0830

- Red Hotshots (invite only)
- Short Court Performance
- Orange Hotshots
- Orange Performance
- Social Teens
- Green Performance
Entry Fees:
- Red & Orange Entry Level $30.50
- Orange & Green Coloured Ball $45.50
Why These Events Matter:
Both events are designed to:
- Build player confidence
- Offer age- and stage-appropriate competition
- Help coaches assess players' readiness for future tournaments
This model has been refined over several years and has made Tennis Palmerston a leader in junior tournament participation across the NT.
Junior Entry Level:
Who it's for:
Players aged around 6–15 years who are new to tournament play.
This event offers a relaxed, supportive environment—a perfect first step into competitive tennis. Coaches will be on court throughout the event to:
- Help with nerves
- Guide players through the rules and scoring
- Ensure a positive, enjoyable first experience
We know how important this first tournament can be. It often shapes whether a child wants to continue competing in the future!
Entry-Level Red Court:
- Mini net courts
- Drop & hit
- 1 bounce for main draw & 2 bounces for back draw
- Timed rounds (15–20 min), 10 min rest between rounds
Entry-Level Orange Court:
- Blue lined 3/4 court
- 1st serves from baseline, 2nd serve can be drop & hit from service line
- 2 bounces allowed
- 20-minute timed rounds, 10 min rest between rounds
Junior Coloured Ball Tournament:
Who it's for:
Experienced Hotshot & Performance-level players ready for a more structured, competitive experience. Over recent events, this division has grown rapidly. We’ve transitioned from timed matches to full match play over two days. Our Coloured Ball event offers players a tournament-style structure that mirrors our Friday UTR Series, using similar rules and scoring.
Orange Ball:
- Blue-lined ¾ court
- 2 serves from the baseline
- 1 bounce
Green Ball:
- Full court
- 2 serves from the baseline
- 1 bounce

Tennis Palmerston Doubles Day:
Tennis Palmerston will be hosting a social doubles day on Saturday the 20th of June from 4pm onwards. Enter as a team or we can find you a partner! The format will be 1 short set to 4 in a division based round robin format. Entry fees are $35/pp & this fee includes a Chinese Buffet dinner catered by Bruce's Charcoal Chicken & Chinese Takeaway. Drinks are BYO. Please enter by Friday the 12th of June for catering purposes. All profits from this event will be going to our junior travel fund!
Family Fun Night:
Tennis Palmerston are excited to be hosting a Family Fun night on Saturday the 20th of June from 5-6:30pm. This is a FREE event which we invite our community to have the opportunity to explore tennis in a fun, safe, family environment. It will be an awesome opportunity to meet our coaches and to find out how to sign up for tennis. Thanks to the MLAs of Palmerston who support this event by providing a FREE sausage sizzle.
