Upcoming Tournaments:
Tennis Palmerston are excited to be running our 4th Junior Entry Level Tournament across 2 days on the Friday the 29th & Saturday the 30th of November. Due to the wet seasons heat & humidity we have decided to run this tournament across 2 evenings.
What Profiles Will I Need Before I Enter?
If you are planning to compete in any of our upcoming tournaments you will need to create the following profiles.
1. You need to create a UTR account. Attached below is a link,
2. Once you have created your UTR account I will need you to create a competitive player profile. Link is attached below,
3. Make sure these 2 profiles are linked together once created. To do this you will need to log into matchcentre (this is your competitive player profile). On the home page once you log in, there will be a button on the left that says link to UTR.
I would suggest creating both profiles straight away. Keep the username & passwords the exact same for both accounts so there is limited confusion. These accounts will last for the remainder of your life and can be used anywhere in Australia.
If you are still unsure, attached below is a link with the exact step by step guide on how to create these profiles. I would suggest using this link so you don't accidentally double up on profiles.
Halfpenny's Junior Entry Level Tournament:
Entries will be open soon for our Halfpenny's Junior Entry Level Tournament. Due to the wet season heat and humidity, this term we will be running divisions across separate days. Our Red & Orange court divisions will run on Friday 29th Nov, from roughly 5-8pm & our Green court divisions will run Saturday 30th Nov, from roughly 5-8:30pm. Draws & times will be confirmed on Thursday the 28th of November. Online entries are currently not available. We will publish the link for online entries next week.
For those who haven't been involved in our previous junior entry level tournament, this event is aimed towards juniors between the ages of 6yrs+. The objective of this tournament is to create an easy-going, low-pressure environment to give these kids a good first-time tournament experience. Our coaches will be present on court as a familiar face to help the kids overcome their nerves, help them understand the rules & scoring, as well as continue to encourage them in what is a daunting experience first time round. We understand the importance of making sure these kids have an enjoyable first-time experience, as this will dictate if they want to compete in future events.
By using the Entry Level Tournament as a lead-in event to help build the confidence of our newer players, it will allow us to transition a higher percentage of players into the competitive space of our sport. These players will have a better understanding of what to expect and our coaches will be able to let them know if they are ready to take the next leap in their tournament journey. We have been using this model over the past 2 years and it has proven to work as we are the largest Club in the NT when it comes to participation in the competition space.
