Grant for East Courts upgrade

Fantastic news for the Queanbeyan Park Tennis Club and particularly East Queanbeyan tennis courts.

Queanbeyan East courts have been in use since 1936 but have been significantly impacted by flooding in 2010 and poor weather conditions over the last few years.  The Club has been committed to keeping these courts operational and actively looking for a way to make significant improvements.

Recently, Queanbeyan Park Tennis Club has been announced as the recipient of a $531,128 grant from the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund.

This grant will allow us to make the East Queanbeyan courts more resilient to the impacts of extreme weather and enable the club and the community to get more use out of them.  Upgrading the surface will enable the club to host more social and competition tennis games, coaching and skills development opportunities and boost the existing community access.

Thank you to Nichole Overall MP, Member for Monaro and Hon Paul Toole Deputy Premier, Minister for Regional NSW and Minister for Police, pictured above with Alice, Samantha and Hamish,  for coming down to the East Queanbeyan tennis courts to make this exciting announcement.

Don’t forget, tennis is a sport for life – you can play at any age and/or any ability.
