Booking Fees: The Melba Tennis Club facilities are available for use by club members and their accompanying guests as well as general members of the public. Club members do not pay fees for daytime use of the courts. However, there is a fee for use of the lights at night. All non-members accompanying a member, are liable to pay court fees of $5 during the day and $8 during the night. Guests' fees should be posted in the slot above the sink in the clubhouse (your booking PIN also opens the clubhouse door, if necessary).
Bookings may be made in half-hour blocks with the fee correspondingly halved, note that the fee for non-members accompanying members is also halved, from $2.5 during the day and $4 at night.
Risk warning: You acknowledge that by using the tennis courts and playing tennis you will be exposed to certain risks, including the risk of physical injury. You may also be exposed to the possibility of contracting an illness, including without limitation the COVID-19 virus. The COVID-19 virus can spread very quickly and result in very serious medical complications in some people. You agree that the use of the tennis courts is entirely at your own risk. You have read and understood this risk warning and voluntarily accept and assume the inherent risks in use of the tennis courts and playing tennis.
Community Guidelines: It is important that we all take precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Guidelines have been developed to reduce the likelihood of contracting the virus while playing tennis. Before playing tennis, please review the guidelines which are available here: https://www.tennis.com.au/act/ and consider your individual situation, noting that the Covid-19 virus can spread quickly and result in very serious medical complications in some people. Access to the Venue is provided on the basis that you will, at all times while at the Venue, adhere to those Guidelines.
Booking a Court: Melba has 8 synthetic grass courts, as well as 4 Hot Shots courts (particularly suitable for young children or families).The club's facilities may be used by members of the club and their guests as well as the general public wishing to book a court.
Both members and non-members can book a court using the "Book-a-Court" system. Bookings are made on the hour/half hour in half hour blocks. You will receive a PIN to open the club gate and the clubhouse door. The PIN you receive is active from 10 mins before the booking start time until 15 mins after the booking end time. (Please note, If your booking is scheduled to start immediately it may take up to 15 minutes for your PIN to activate after the time of booking).
Note that you should enter your PIN at the gate even if the gate is already open eg for coaching or for an event. This is essential for night time bookings in order to trigger the lights but also useful in the daytime. It enables the club to collect accurate data regarding court usage (useful for grant applications, etc).
