Performance Coaching Programs

OBJECTIVES

  • Build a high-performance culture for juniors targeting tournament play, school teams, or college
  • Deliver a structured weekly training load 
  • Ensure multi-discipline development: technical, tactical, physical, mental and competitive

SQUAD SESSION STRUCTURE

STANDARD 2-HOUR SQUAD BLOCK

  • 0–15 min – Group Warm-up: Dynamic stretches, movement drills, short rally games
  • 15–45 min – Technical/Tactical Theme
    • Drill blocks in small groups (ratio ~1:4–1:6)
    • Themes rotate: baseline patterns, defence-to-attack, net game, serve/return, transition
  • 45–90 min – High-Intensity Live Ball & Competitive Drills
    • Pattern points (e.g. cross-court + open court)
    • Situational games (e.g. starting 30–30, second-serve only, tie-breakers)
    • Doubles formations (I-formation, poaching patterns) at least once a week, similar to advanced programs
  • 90–120 min – Match Play / Conditioning Finisher
    • Short sets or timed matches
    • Fitness finisher (sprints, agility circuits) or on-court conditioning

FITNESS, MENTAL & OFF-COURT CURRICULUM

Fitness / S&C

Build a term plan focusing on:

  • Movement & agility (ladders, cones, court-specific footwork)
  • Strength & power (bodyweight, bands, med-balls)
  • Endurance & recovery (intervals, cool-down protocols)
  • Aim for ~1.5–2 hrs structured fitness per week

Mental & Tactical Workshops (15–30 mins weekly)

Topics:

  • Routines (pre-match, between points, post-match)
  • Handling pressure & momentum swings
  • Match-charting (players analyse each other’s matches)
  • Goal setting & reflection (individual training journals)

U12 Performance

9-12 yrs, serious orange/green/yellow ball

Regular comp play, minimum training hours, coach referral

U14-16 Performance

12-16 yrs, club/tournament players

UTR/AR level, consistent training, commitment to schedule

U18 Elite

15-18 yrs aiming at national/college level

Proven results, strong work ethic, coach & director approval
