Coaching changes

Club members are informed that the Club’s contracted coach, Evan Sanna, of Grassroots Tennis Academy, provided verbal notification on Saturday 9 July to Grant Porter, the Club President, of his intention to resign. Evan indicated the reason was to take up another coaching-related position in Darwin. 

This notification was formalised, at the Club’s request, in writing yesterday afternoon (14 July). Evan has indicated his resignation is effective immediately.

Evan’s departure is unexpected and has occurred at the stage when discussions had just commenced to renew the coaching contract (which comes up for renewal on 31 December 2022).

Evan’s decision to leave without notice means that coaching services will be temporarily unavailable until the Management Committee can arrange a replacement coaching service. The Management Committee is meeting on Sunday to discuss this matter.

The Management Committee apologises to Club members that make use of the coaching service provided by Evan and for any inconvenience caused.

As members will appreciate, to secure a new professional coaching service that meets the varied needs of the Club and local community, may take some time.
