Social Programs

The Club runs a number of organised and self-organised social tennis options for juniors and adults.  You don't need to be a club member to participate in these.  Some are free, some are fee-based, some are grant-based (where we will ask you to register even though they're so we can track numbers and participation).

Women's Cardio by This Girl Can - Bring your friends for an evening of cardio and tennis for ALL women.  Free ($10 per person/session subsidised by This Girl Can), each Monday during the school term from 6:45pm.  Sessions run for 60 minutes and are followed by Ladies' Open Court for anyone that wants to hand around for a social hit.  Book for the term online at this website.

Open Court Social Tennis - The courts are open for free practice to anyone over 18 looking for a social hit Wednesdays from 7pm to 8:30pm and Fridays 10am to 11:30am.  Come alone, come with a friend.  Play under lights to music and with BYO refreshments.

Junior Open Court Social Tennis - The courts are open for free practice to anyone under 18, Tuesdays from 4:30pm to 6:30pm during the school term.  Junior players and team members can come down for a social hit amongst themselves.  We also have racquet and balls for anyone wanting to come down for a hit and giggle with their friends - tennis YOUR way, no experience or skill needed.  THESE SESSIONS ARE NOT SUPERVISED - Parental supervision necessary.

Community Court Program - The Club's "Court the Community" program makes our courts accessible at no-charge (lighting costs excluded) to community groups with Merri-Bek that want to organise and staff their own events or programs.  We can also make raquets and balls available if you need equipment.  If you'd like to participate in this program, email us at coburgtennisclub@gmail.com with an overview of your organisation, your event, target attendees, community benefit and expected court usage (day of week, time, number of courts, length of program).

Applications will be reviewed by the Club Committee based on submission detail, nature of activity, court availability and fair and equitable use by the community.  The courts are typically available during weekdays and on Sundays, however Club-organised programs will always take priority over community requests, as will maintaining court availability for peak book-a-court times.  Approval of applications to participate in the "Court the Community" program is at the sole discretion of the Coburg Tennis Club committee.
