Ainslie Tennis Club has been providing the Ainslie community with a base for local and Canberra wide tennis competitions since 1928.  In 1938 a person by the name of Frank Marcusson donated trophies for Mens and Ladies Singles Handicap Cups.  Then in 1941 H H Johnson donated the Mixed Handicap Cup. Over the years since there have been a number of other cups donated/purchased but by whom or why is unknown to the current Committee.

Since 2000, there have been several attempts to start Club championships and each time existing trophies were re-badged at great cost to the club.  Accordingly, with the creation of the Neil Hendy Cups in 2020, it was decided that the trophies would be rebadged one last time, but the details of finals from 2020 onwards, together with any known details of championships conducted between 1928 and 2019 will be maintained in the Club’s website on pages dedicated to championships till 2019 and for the Neil Hendy Cups which have been competed for since 2020.
