Membership

The Tin Can Bay Tennis Club is a relatively small sporting club with only around 40 or so members. We always warmly welcome new tennis players to come join us on one of our social playing sessions where you’ll find a bunch of friendly tennis loving people eager to include you in some fun on the court.

For those who would like to make tennis a regular activity in their lives, becoming a member of the Club is only a matter of filling out a membership form and pinning our Treasurer to the nearest fence until she approves your membership!

To assist with any questions you may have about membership, please feel free to contact:

    • President: Ian "V-Man" Stevens - 0439 785008

    • Treasurer: "Wimbledon" Lynda Morton - 0408 816278

MEMBERSHIP ANNUAL FEES & PLAYING FEES:

    • Club membership for a full year: $40.00.

    • Playing Session Fees: $4.00 for club members | $7.00 for non-members.

Those who may be thinking of joining our Club are invited to come along to play free of charge on your first visit.

HONORARY LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP:
Honorary Lifetime Membership is awarded to a member as a reward for exceptionally long service to the Club. But it is much more than just about the length of time as a member, it is also about recognising the positive influence that member has displayed and the support that member has given the Club, its events and to other members over the years.

Our most recent recipient of Honorary Lifetime Membership is none other than Les “The Legend” Domin. Les has been a loyal and devoted member of the current Club for some 27 years. However, all the more impressive when we count when he first joined the original Tin Can Bay Tennis Club when it was once located down near the caravan park which was back around 74 years ago! Good luck anyone in the whole of Australia trying to beat that amazing record.

As remarkable as it may sound, Les still manages to get the better of most of us on the court.

Other recipients of Honorary Lifetime Membership include Lindsay Keightly and Margaret Day.

AN ACTIVE ONLINE TENNIS PLAYERS FACEBOOK GROUP:
Volunteer Club Publicity/Media Officer Peter Thwaites has started a Tennis Players Facebook group for all players in our immediate area - Tin Can Bay,  Cooloola Cove and Rainbow Beach. While not specifically affiliated with the Tin Can Bay Tennis Club, it nonetheless offers Tin Can Bay Tennis Club members a fun and informal online location to interact with other Tin Can Bay Tennis Club members and other tennis players of our area.

Players can make comments, engage in message based conversations, see photos and even watch the occasional video. The Facebook group is also used to update everyone with anouncements, upcoming events and interesting happenings at the Tin Can Bay Tennis Club. It is a great way to stay informed from the comfort of your home.
