Emerson Banning is a highly qualified tennis coach with over 15 years of competitive playing experience across junior, open, and collegiate levels, and 4–5 years of coaching experience. She began playing tennis at the age of 8 in Lithgow, NSW, and started competing in tournaments by age 13, later achieving an Australian Open Women’s ranking inside the top 150. She is an ATPCA-qualified coach, holds a Graduate Tennis Pro Certificate, and has completed the Tennis Australia Trainee Coaching Course. Her development includes international training at the John Newcombe Tennis Academy in Texas in 2016 and 2018, where she refined both technical and high-performance training methods.

Her collegiate playing career spans four years in the United States. During her first two years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she achieved an ITA NAIA CCAC Conference ranking of 46, was a CCAC Regular Conference Winner, earned Singles All-Conference Team honours for the 2022–23 season, and contributed to a NAIA team ranking of 25 at Cardinal Stritch University. She completed her final two years at Coker University in Hartsville, South Carolina, where she earned a top 10 Southeast Region ranking in doubles within the SAC, was named First Team All-SAC in doubles for the 2024–25 season, Third Team All-SAC in doubles for the 2023–24 season, and served as a team captain for the Coker University Women’s Tennis Team. Alongside her tennis credentials, she holds a Bachelors of Science in Clinical Psychology and is the proud owner of Beyond Tennis Coaching. Her goal is to share her knowledge and experience to help young players navigate the college tennis pathway and high-performance development opportunities, while also creating welcoming opportunities for social connection and enjoyment for players of all ages and abilities.
