Clubs Commitment
Woodville Orion Tennis Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members, players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and visitors. As an affiliated club of Tennis SA and Tennis Australia, we adopt and uphold their policies, standards, and codes of behaviour.
All members and participants are expected to act with integrity, respect, and sportsmanship at all times, both on and off the court.
General Expectations
All individuals associated with the Club are expected to:
- Play fairly and within the rules of tennis
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship and respect for all participants
- Treat others with dignity, regardless of ability, background, or role
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive club environment
- Refrain from abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour
Participants Responsibilites
Everyone plays a role in keeping our community safe and fun!
Players
Players are expected to compete fairly, respect opponents and officials, and value sportsmanship above winning. Tennis should be played for enjoyment, with an appreciation for both teammates and competitors.
Coaches
Coaches must provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment, ensuring all players are treated fairly and given equal opportunity to develop. They are expected to act as positive role models and operate within the spirit and rules of the game.
Parents & Guardians
Parents and guardians play an important role in fostering a positive environment. Encouragement is welcomed; however, behaviour must remain respectful at all times. Players should be supported to enjoy the game without pressure, criticism, or negative conduct.
Administrators & Volunteers
Club officials are responsible for promoting fairness, inclusion, and the values of the Club. They must ensure that all members are treated equally and that any inappropriate behaviour is addressed in accordance with Club and governing body policies.
