Dear Willunga Tennis Club Members,
Club update June 2022.
Willunga Tennis Club (WTC) held its Annual General Meeting on Monday 6th June. The meeting was cold and eventful with input from all who attended on the night. I would like to thank all those in attendance, it was much appreciated. At the conclusion of the meeting I felt confident that the future is bright for WTC, bring on 2022/23.
Before we move on I would like to introduce myself. My name is Nick Hoffmann and I am the new Willunga Tennis Club President. Recently Matt Waye stood down which left the Club running without a President over the past few months. I would like to acknowledge Matt for his hard work over the years and persistence with the Club, even after moving interstate. Also a big thank you to Monica Parvin whom held the fought running three roles whilst the club sought a replacement President, the club appreciates it. At the recent AGM there was a call for a new president, I raised my hand and was accepted as the new WTC President.
I am a Willunga resident of six years, and I love our town and club. I am married with two children, with all three attending Willunga Waldorf School for employment or school. Our youngest child Cooper plays for WTC and played in the Green Ball competition last season. I played tennis as a junior and found tennis again as an adult 10 years ago after our children were born. I played seniors tennis for Willunga, Happy Valley and Hackham Tennis Clubs. Around 2016/17 I became involved in Willunga's social tennis, then entered the McLaren Flat Tuesday night comp. In March 2020 I developed tennis elbow thus pausing my tennis career. Hopefully I will be back on the courts again soon.
An update of the Committee.
I feel I can confidently say that the future is bright for Willunga Tennis Club due to the strong volunteer uptake and with a committee full of members who are keen to drive success. Our committee was locked in at the recent AGM and members are listed below.

I would like to thank the existing and new members of the committee and look forward to working with each and every one of you. To the volunteers and parents, also a thank you for being a part of the club and look forward to seeing you all this upcoming season. We look forward to providing a great 2022/23 season for our Juniors, Seniors and Social members.
Finally the Willunga Tennis Club is holding its annual Open Day on Sunday the 21st August 2022. We have plans for the day with more details to come. We hope you all can lock this date in and hope to see you there.
