Child Safety Policy

Our Child Safe Policy

In 2015, the Victorian Government passed “Child Safety” legislation, following the Parliamentary Inquiry into child abuse. The legislation requires all organisations that provide services to children to promote child safety, by developing appropriate leadership, policies and codes of practice, and other administrative arrangements, in order to create a culture of child protection.

It is a further requirement of the legislation, (commenced 1 January 2017) that all cases of child abuse are reported to the authorities, and action taken to investigate any allegations of that kind.

The VPTC Committee has adopted an interim child safe policy and continues to seek feedback from members to ensure that it meets the needs of the club and the legislative requirements. You may read the current policy by clicking on the link below.
