Competition fees are payable on competition entry. The reservation of courts, the supply of lights for evening games and the supply of new tennis balls is included when playing competition.
The competitions are split into grades, allowing a range of standards to be accommodated. The club organises players into appropriate grades, arranges for the teams to be registered for the competitions and provides the courts and tennis balls for matches. This is all managed by a Club Captain position on the club committee. Matches are played at both home and away court venues and they do involve some travel to clubs throughout the Northern Beaches area.
To play in any of the competitions below for our club players are required to be a member.
Monday Night Ladies
The format for Monday night ladies is a two woman competition commencing at 7:30pm and matches are often complete by 9:30pm. Three sets are played using a home and away format. Courts, lights and tennis balls are provided by the club for all homes matches.
Tuesday Night Social
Competition starts at 7:00pm and usually each player plays 3 sets of tennis. Lights out is at 11:00pm. Courts, lights and tennis balls are provided by the club.
Wednesday Morning Ladies
The format for Wednesday morning ladies is a two woman competition commencing at 9:30am and matches are often complete by 11:30am. Three sets are played using a home and away format. Courts and tennis balls are provided by the club for all homes matches.
Saturday Morning Juniors
The Saturday morning junior competition is run by Tennis Northern Beaches. It commences at 8:00am and continues until at the latest 12:00 noon. The competition is played for 10-11 weeks during the school term with breaks for school holidays.
Saturday Afternoon Social Tennis
Mixed competition starts at 1.00pm and continues until 4:00pm. Teams are typically based on a two man, two lady format and matches provide players with two sets of mixed doubles and a set of either mens or ladies doubles. Competitions run all year round, with courts and balls provided.
