HotShots

2024-25 Coaching

In season 2024-25 we will be running a HotShots junior coaching program.

Hot Shots Tennis is a fun way for children between the ages of 3-13 years to play and learn tennis. Each Stage provides the right equipment and court size to play tennis at the participants ability and interest.

Our program will be run by Tennis Australia approved trainee coaches under the guidance of Megan Henry— Rural Coach Development.

Thank you to Mel Adams, Courtney Wilson and Michelle Preston for volunteering to run the Blue Stage group. All parents are welcome to participate with their child in this stage. 

See below information regarding the HotShots stages. Please use your child's age (or stage from last year) as a guide to which HotShots colour to enrol in— there may be movement between groups after the first lesson. Please get in touch if you are unsure or have any questions.

HotShots will take place on Saturday afternoons from 1pm to 4pm. Session times will be confirmed once we know how many groups of each stage we have. It will most likely look something like this—

1pm Blue and Red stages

1:45pm Red/Orange 

2:30pm Orange

3:15pm Orange/Green Dot

Blue Stage

For ages 3 -5 years:

  • Exploring the building blocks of movement
  • Fun, imagination, creativity, play-based
  • Values: Listening, cooperation, communication

Red Stage

For ages 5-8 years:

  • Introducing and developing tennis specific skills, basic strategies and the rally
  • Fun, friends, game-based
  • Values: Fair play, persistence, working well with others

Orange Stage

For ages 8-10 years:

  • Progressing and extending  tennis specific skills, strategies and match play
  • Fun, friends, game based
  • Values: Resilience, respectful relationships

Green Dot Stage

For ages 10+

  • Extending and refining tennis specific skills and strategies, problem solving , analyzing
  • Fun, friends,game based
  • Values: Leadership, resilience, empathy, sensitivity
