Calling all players 30 years and older - come and play in the 2025 Australian Seniors Tennis Championships!
The 2025 Australian Tennis Seniors Championships will be held in January in Adelaide, South Australia. This two-week event comprises the Australian Teams Carnival (5-10 January) and the Australian Individual Championships (12-17 January). It is perfect for anyone 30 and older, offering a mix of friendly competition and social fun.😊🎾
Australian Teams Carnival: 5-10 January 2025
The first week features the Australian Teams Carnival, where teams from the ACT, all Australian states, and some international teams, compete for the Australian Teams Trophy. It’s a great chance to meet fellow tennis enthusiasts and enjoy the camaraderie, especially during the State and Closing dinner evenings! 🏆🎾
Match Details:
- Men and Women Teams of 5+ players compete against other States and some international teams, with age groups structured in 5-year increments (eg 30, 35, 40 etc)
- Round Robin format. Matches are played in two daily timeslots: 8:00 AM or 10:40 AM and 1:20 PM or 4:00 PM, each lasting up to two and a half hours.
- You might play up to eight sets in one day, but with larger teams, there’s a chance to rest and recharge.
Highlights:
- Competitive team doubles in a friendly atmosphere.
- Represent the ACT against other States and international teams
- Play within your age group, on fantastic grass or synthetic courts
- Enjoy social events, including the fun-filled State and Closing Ceremony dinners - the week is more than just tennis! 🎉🎾
How to Nominate:
You can nominate to play with your friends in a team (max 6 players) or enter individually. EVERY player must complete a TSACT 2025 Team Carnival Nomination Entry Form. Entries are now open and will close on Friday 11 October 2024.
- All players must have a Competitive Player Profile/activated UTR and be a financial member of TSACT.
- Teams should have up to 6 players preferably of similar standard and within the same age group or one group younger.
- Players representing the ACT are required to wear the TSACT uniform.
- The cost of entry is $120 per player, payable when you submit the nomination entry form.
Selection Process:
Team and individual nominations are submitted to the TSACT Grading Committee which will determine final ACT team selections. Individual entrants and nominated team captains will be consulted as required. Please note:
- Given that the Teams Carnival competes against other States, priority will be given to selecting teams with ACT (and surrounding NSW) players of a similar standard and age group before inviting interstate players to join a team.
- The Grading Committee will strive to place individual entries into an ACT team of similar standards and age groups. If this is not possible, then in consultation with you, a spot in a team from another state will be sought.
- If you choose to play for another State team, you must get clearance from TSACT, wear the TSACT uniform; complete and submit the relevant State entry form and pay the required State entry fee.
This event is a fantastic opportunity to play tennis, meet new people, explore new destinations and enjoy a memorable week!
