Our Story

In 1939 a committee of local people commenced lobbying the local Council for support to establish tennis courts in Rosanna.  Council made land available in De Winton Park, and with Council support and lots of hard work and fundraising, courts were established.  A small clubhouse followed, which was later extended to its current size.

Five en-tout-cas courts were eventually built at the site and by March 2021, four courts had been converted to artificial clay to reduce water usage and offer all-weather play.

Our club is managed by a volunteer committee of management, with a qualified coaching team, providing a variety of tuition for all ages and abilities. We are an incorporated association registered with Consumer Affairs Victoria under the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (the Act).  Members are eligible to attend our Annual General Meeting and our 2020-2021 Annual Report summarises the current position of the club.

Our juniors have a strong presence in the Saturday morning NEJTA (North Eastern Junior Tennis Association) competition.

Our senior members currently field eleven teams in the NENTG (North Eastern Night Tennis Group) Mens, Veterans, Womens and Mixed night time competitions.

Social play and competition is available for ladies during the day on Tuesday and Friday, including participation in the mid-week daytime competitions organised by the HDTA (Heidelberg District Tennis Association).

Rosanna Tennis Club is affiliated with Tennis Victoria and members are able to compete in the State-wide pennant competition.

Both our courts and our clubrooms are available for hire to the general public at reasonable rates and subject to availability.  We operate Tennis Australia’s Book-a-Court system, an online court booking and payment platform that connects with pin pad technology on our club’s gate.

Our club welcomes new members of all ages and abilities. Courts are generally available for members to have a hit with family and friends at low cost. Priority is given to competition teams – currently social play is not available on Tuesday nights nor on Saturday mornings during school terms.
