2024 PASSIONATE CUP

Year 4 of the Passionate Cup was hosted by the Montville Tennis Club (MTC) on Sat.Oct.26th & Sun.Oct.27th. Match play on Saturday afternoon, a visit to the Mapleton Hotel on Saturday evening and back into it on Sunday morning.

There were never more than a few games separating the teams over the weekend which in itself was extraordinary. After 6 hours of tennis in which 72 matches were played, the combined Montville/Mapleton Tennis Clubs defeated the Range Tennis Club 136 games to 133 games!

What was even more extraordinary is the ambience of the MTC. The setting is breathtaking, the organization that goes into the production is beyond belief ( MTC President Brett Abbenbroek steers the ship) and the running of the tournament by Ian Cowan each year is always innovative and seamless! 

Once again the band was playing, the birds were chirping, the food & beverages were superb and everyone played 6 sets of tennis over the weekend...and wait for it....all for $30 per person!!
