Code of Conduct
The Power Street Reserve Tennis Club is a family friendly club that respects the rights of its members and the community.
Competition play is governed by Tennis Australia’s Code of Behaviour and Member Protection Policies as applicable to member associations.
In addition, this Code of Conduct for the Club has been developed and is applicable to all players, Members, and visitors to the Club.
Failure to abide by this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Club’s Rules.
General Code of Conduct

Be fair, considerate and honest in all dealings with others

Accept responsibility for your actions

Respect the rights, dignity and worth of others

Respect the rights of the Club’s neighbours

Refrain from any form of abuse or harassment towards, or discrimination of others

Provide a safe environment for the conduct of tennis
-
Show concern and caution towards others who may be sick or injured
-
Be a positive role model
-
Avoid unaccompanied and unobserved activities with persons under 18 years of age, wherever possible

Current members are welcome to invite visitors however, visitors wishing to use courts more regularly than four times per annum must become members of the Club. Any visitor violations may result in membership and access being cancelled.

Be aware of, and adhere to the Club’s standards, rules regulations and policies

Operate within the rules of tennis, including national and international guidelines which govern the Club and its Members

Do not use your involvement with the Club to promote your own beliefs, behaviours or practices where these are inconsistent with those of the Club

Abide by the Clubs Conditions of Entry
Players Code of Conduct

Respect the rights, dignity and worth of fellow players, coaches, officials and spectators
-
Refrain from conduct which could be regarded as sexual or other harassment towards fellow players and coaches

Refrain from making audible obscenities that may offend other players, spectators and neighbours

Wear appropriate tennis clothing and footwear at all times

Comply with the hours and conditions permitted for play

Be frank and honest with your coach concerning illness and injury and your ability to train fully within the program requirements

Conduct yourself in a professional manner relating to language, temper and punctuality.

Maintain high personal behaviour standards at all times

Abide by the rules and respect the decision of the umpire, match referee or other adjudicator, making all appeals through the formal process and respecting the final decision

Be honest in your attitude and preparation to training. Work equally hard for yourself and your team/crew

Cooperate with coaches and staff in development of programs to adequately prepare you for competition at the highest level

In the event of busy times at the courts, players are encouraged to participate in doubles games in preference to singles

Players are required to dress respectfully in neat casual tennis clothing when on court. A top must be worn at all times
-
Out of courtesy to other players, movement across the back of the court is discouraged when play is in progress
Grievance procedure
The grievance procedure of the Club is set out in the Club’s Rules. A copy of the Club’s Rules can be made available by contacting the Club’s Secretary.
Conditions of Entry
Booking of Courts

The Courts can only be booked by members using the Book A Court system, for up to 90 minutes per member.

The booking is to include the full names of all people using the Court, including other members and any guests.

Members who have made a booking but who are unable to play must cancel their booking.

Members who have booked a court are expected to start and finish play on time when others are waiting.
Access Times

Social use of the Courts is to cease by no-later than 10.30pm.

At 10:30pm, the tennis lights will be automatically switched off and all players are to cease using the courts or the outside areas of the Club.

Members and their guests are to vacate the Clubrooms by no later than midnight.
Non-Members

Non-members are to be accompanied by a Member at all times.

Members that have invited non-members to use the facilities are responsible for their conduct and are to draw their attention to the condition of entry / these rules.

Details of the non-member are to be included in the booking and a $5.00 fee for all non- members is to be paid into the visitor box in the clubrooms
Children / Minors
- Children under the age of 16 are to be accompanied by an adult at all times, and are not permitted in the clubrooms without adult supervision.
Behaviour of Members and Guests

Any form of abuse or anti-social behaviour, including foul language, will not be tolerated at the Club.

Music should only be played in the Clubrooms with the volume to be kept to a minimum.

We remind members that we are located in a quiet residential area and that noise during time on court after 9pm should be kept to a minimum.
Any members found to be engaged in the above behaviour( or where their guests behave in this fashion) may, at the discretion of the Committee, have their membership suspended pending disciplinary action in accordance with the Club's rules.
Attire
Suitable clothing, including appropriate tennis/athletic shoes, and top must be worn at all times.
