AN INVITATION TO JOIN THE PEARL BEACH MEN’S BOWLING GROUP

The Pearl Beach Bowling Green was officially opened on 4 November 1995 by Ruth Ridges, Judith Lego and Geoff Furnell. Since that time the rink has been in continual use.

The Pearl Beach tennis courts were pegged out in September 1980, and formation of the Pearl Beach Tennis Club commenced in April 1981. November 1995 the bowling green was completed with monies loaned by members which were repaid the following year. Since that time bowlers have been short on the ground until 2012 when a challenge was issued to the Friday afternoon men's tennis group and some of them enthusiastically joined. Soon after a few of the Pearl Beach ladies indicated that they also would like to form a group of their own.

Since then the newly refurbished green is in constant use with players not only having fun, but at times in serious competition. We are always looking for new members to join our merry band of bowlers, and experience is not necessary we are happy to coach new members in bowling techniques, and share our experiences.

The Tennis & Recreation Club hold special social days and bowls are included. In addition, Pearl Beach Bowlers are invited to local clubs to participate in Sunday Charity Bowling days. We would love to have new players to join our ‘Warrior’ bowlers on Friday mornings 9am – 11am.

Currently, several social groups play bowls each week:
Tuesday mornings Ladies 9.30 am to 11.30 am
Friday mornings Men’s 9.00 am to 11.00 am
