Member Information
COURT USE PROCEDURE
- Wear appropriate tennis attire, including approved footwear suitable for tennis courts.
- For en-tout-cas courts (courts 1 & 2): Water the court thoroughly before play if it appears dry, and bag the court fence afterwards. Do not use them if they are too wet.
- For synthetic clay courts (courts 3 - 8): Bag courts fence to fence after each session of play.
- Return drag mats and line brooms to their appropriate place.
- Our Club-Coach agreement stipulates that only authorised club coaches may provide coaching services at the club.
- Please report any maintenance issues to maintenance@northbalwyntc.org.au (preferably with photos).
BOOKING COURTS
- Access to the booking system is for members only. If you have difficulties logging in, please reach out to enquiries@northbalwyntc.org.au.
- Bookings are not essential but are advised. If a court is booked, the booking takes priority over casual users.
- Maximum of 2 per week in peak times (Mon-Fri: 4pm-10:30pm, Sat-Sun: all day). This does not restrict you from joining organised Competitions and Social play.
- Do not make bookings for service practice or use of a ball machine during peak times, and please cancel your booking if you cannot make it for any reason (e.g. weather).
- All members are not to make court bookings for anyone other than themselves.
- If you have not occupied the court within 15 minutes of the start of your booking time, the booking will be considered forfeited, and other members will be free to use the court.
OPENING HOURS
- Monday to Saturday: 7am - 10:30pm.
- Sunday and Public Holidays: 9am - 10pm.
- ANZAC Day: 12pm - 10pm.
- Closed for Good Friday and Christmas Day.
VISITORS TO THE CLUB
- A member may bring up to 3 visitors at a time (children 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult), for a maximum of 6 visits.
- Visitor fees ($5 per 30 minutes per non-member) are payable, and names should be provided at the time of booking the courts.
CLUBHOUSE
- Access cards open the front gate, front door, and rear door of the clubhouse. Lost access cards will only be replaced with a fee of $20.
- Always keep facilities clean and tidy. Wash, dry and put away dishes.
- The last member to leave the clubhouse should turn off the lights, air conditioning, heater, lock the side sliding doors and leave via the front sliding doors.
- Court light switches are located inside the front entrance on the right-hand side.
- The main lights switch is controlled by a timer, but members must still manually turn off the court lights using the switch inside the clubhouse. If this is not done, the lights will automatically turn back on the following morning.
- Smoking is not allowed in the clubhouse or grounds and within 10 metres of the club perimeter.
- Bicycles must not be ridden in the club grounds.

SUPPLY OF TENNIS BALLS
- Tennis balls are provided by the club for competition and organised social play.
- Both new and used tennis balls are available for sale to members at a price set by the Committee.
A CHILD SAFE CLUB
- North Balwyn Tennis Club is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people who participate in our club’s activities. We support the rights of children and will act at all times to ensure that a child-safe environment is maintained. We also support the rights and wellbeing of our coaches and volunteers, and we encourage active participation in building and maintaining a secure and safe environment for all participants.. This is covered by our Child Safety Policy and Child Safety Code of Conduct.
