The Mount Barker Tennis Club is one of nearly 50 tennis clubs affiliated with Tennis West within the Regional South Zone.  The Mount Barker Tennis Club is an incorporated Association established over 30 years ago (reference: A1003130J, established 27/05/1993). Over the years, it has run social tennis and participated in inter-club tennis competitions and the Lower Great Southern tennis zone events. 

The club is governed by a dedicated voluntary Committee, who have 'stepped up' to fill the vacancies left by the previous stalwarts of the Club. The Committee has endorsed its 2024 - 2027 Strategic Plan in early 2024 which provides a strategic framework over the next 3 years.

The development of the Club's Strategic Plan has been supported by the Shire of Plantagenet and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) through Every Club Funding.
