1. Confirmation of Previous Minutes. Moved – B Gwynne      Seconded –R Borzi

2. Business arising from previous minutes

  • Current audit-update. Cairns Quality Accounting. Bev emailed company. Waiting on quote.
  • Tin Shed Raffle on 18 November. Update. $600.00. To purchase an A 3 whiteboard to write the  prizes on it. Action: Bev
  • Tin Shed Grant for T Shirts. Bev to bring them to meeting for distribution to committee members and family.
  • Hayley drafted a junior player discipline policy for 2023 for junior members who are being coached.
  • To email minutes to all members in 2023 and invite to meetings. Put on website as well. Update-Rob to be in charge of website
  • Ask Julie to do a quarterly newsletter to send to all members. Julie is away at present.

Draft calendar sent to committee for discussion at meeting

Email to PDTC with dates for junior and adult squad matches. To be approved by PDTC

 

5. President Comments:

  • General Business:
  • Current members at 14 January2023, are 7
  • Bev registered in Tennis Australia Job Applications for a Coach. No success as yet.
  • Bev registered the Club in the TENNIS HOT SHOTS COMMUNITY PLAY – DELIVERER. Tennis Hot Shots Community Play is a program designed to be delivered by club volunteers. It aims to give an excellent first tennis experience in a fun, friendly and welcoming environment, for young players that would not normally be able to access the program as their local club does not have a qualified tennis coach. Registration is still pending.
  • Tin Shed raffle Nights:  31.3.23, 16.6.23, 25.8.23, 03.11.23. Looking for volunteers for these nights. R Borzi, B Gwynne for 31.3.23, Herold for 16.6.23, 25.8.23, B and H Bender for 25.8.23 and J Moffat for 3.11.23
  • Come and Try Day for 2023 will be Saturday 4th February. Crystal has submitted a micro grant to DSC for this day. Successful. Julie has done up a Flyer for Facebook. Cody M is doing up an A4 information sheet for FB and distribution to people on sign on day and throughout the year. Volunteers on the day- Herold, Rob. Time event will start and end: 9-11am. Advertising- Mossman Print to print 2023 Registration Form and Information Sheet plus signs for tennis fence.
  • Junior player discipline policy for 2023 for junior members was discussed. One change was made and Bev to print and give to junior parents to sign and be returned to club. B Gwynne moved that the policy be passed, seconded B Bender
  • Calendar for 2023 to be done. It was decided to keep all events and dates as is and discuss at next meeting.
  • Update on the master plan for tennis courts at Coronation Park. Cody our FNQ Development Officer and DSC Sport and Rec Officer are now handling it. Someone from Tennis Queensland is currently doing up a cost sheet for 2 courts which will be presented to DSC Sport and Rec Officer.
  • Meeting with Cody Meagher on Thursday 5 January. Rob and Bev. Rob is now admin for website. We discussed sign on day and memberships were rolled over to 2023. Spoke about obtaining a coach and how difficult this is. Coaching course [Community Coach] is in Cairns in April.
  • Rob has discussed with Sam her coaching plans for this year. Sam has indicated to Rob and Herold that she will not be coaching. Bev to contact Sam for her coaching details from 2022 as to who the juniors were.
  • Rob has cut new keys for Tennis Shed which was broken into. It was decided to give committee members access to courts, lights and shed using another key. Brydehn to organise 6 locks and 10 keys.
