Are you our next Club Secretary?

We have an urgent need to fill the shoes of our Secretary, Karen Gallagher, who after 5 distinguished years has decided to move on. We thank Karen for her outstanding tenure as Secretary. We are hoping that by advertising this in our newsletter, we may get someone to put their hand up to help us out.

The secretary's role is traditionally a very important role within the Club structure, but in recent times, the role has been streamlined to a much more manageable and less onerous role, due to technology, but still an important one.

Below is a list of the Secretary's role:

  • Receiving emails from the secretary's email address and forwarding directly to the appropriate committee member. Only a handful received per month.
  • Taking minutes at our meetings approx. every 6 weeks. This can be adjusted to suit the new persons availability.
  • Check our PO box at intervals. Very little PO mail is received.

All of the above, in total, requires very little time per month, but nonetheless, still plays a role in easing the burden on the President and Treasurer’s workload and assisting in the overall functioning of an efficient Club.

Should anyone with a few hours per month to spare with or without experience may find this of interest and wants to find out more, please inform the Club. Even if that person is not a member or a friend, then this is also fine.
