Mareeba Tennis Club

Welcome to the Mareeba Tennis Club!

Mareeba is a wonderful community located in far north Queensland. With 300 sunny days a year, Mareeba is the perfect place to play tennis.

Mareeba Tennis Club has 10 Flexipave courts which all have lights, easily accessible to anybody who wants to play. The club house includes a bar and a kitchen as well as toilet and shower facilities.

The coach is available most days.

We encourage new members to come on board and contact any club committee members for further information.

Please consider becoming a volunteer of the Mareeba Tennis Club:

A volunteer of the Mareeba tennis club contributes time, skills and experience, to benefit the tennis community.

Roles vary, however most volunteering jobs at the Tennis Club take place within a formal structure. Volunteers are also needed to contribute on an informal basis. Small roles are available and are just as important.

Becoming a volunteer helps the tennis club provide an excellent sporting facility for the community of Mareeba.

Nominations are being called for the following positions:

President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer & Assistant Treasurer, Kitchen/Bar Convenor, Club Registrar, Tournament Director, Night Fixtures Coordinator, Publicity/Facebook Officer, Maintenance Officer, Social Tennis Coordinator, Grants Officer, First Aid Officer.

Court upgrade:

• Behind the scenes work is continuing on getting the required approvals for the removal and construction of courts 1-3 and 8-10.
• Tender applications for construction will close in a few weeks and work is likely to begin mid-January 2025.
• Project should take 3 months to complete so most likely April 2025

Just a friendly reminder that tennis, pop tennis and pickle ball will continue in a social format on Monday and Tuesday nights (except public holidays) over the summer break. Just turn up and have some fun for $5.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

• Social distancing should be observed.
• Wash your hands properly before and after play. Hand wash will be provided at sink where water cooler used to be.
