Hinterland Range Seniors Tennis 19 May

A Hinterland Ranged Seniors social event was held on Sunday 19th of May at our Maleny Tennis Club where the four courts were in action on a surprisingly sunny spring afternoon.  Well it has been raining constantly all year, so it was great to be enjoying the sunshine along with the friendly comradery between club members across the Hinterland.

Five clubs were represented and the informal schedule made sure that all players interacted with different partners and opposition over a five set programme.  Each set lasted approximately thirty minutes with a short deuce and each player scored by counting the number of games won during the set.  Two players were awarded first and second on that basis.  First was Glenn Smith from Witta and second was Scott Coulson from Landsborough.

The afternoon included time around the BBQ and the afternoon tea table where a range of fine food was provided.

The Hinterland Range theme seems to be a successful formula for players that enjoy the less formal competitive game with a strong social emphasis and less hassle with the travel.  More games are being coordinated so if you’d like to be included send an email to the Maleny Tennis Club on malenytennisclub@gmail.com
