Essential Rules

• 📐 Ball on the Line is In – Any part of the ball touching the line counts as in.
• 🙅 Don’t Catch the Ball – You must not catch or let the ball hit you anywhere on the court surface prior to the ball bouncing (inside the gate) or you lose the point.
• 🚫 Don’t Hit the Net – You must not touch the net with your racquet or body during play, or you lose the point.
• 🫱 Accept Line Calls – You must accept your opponents’ line calls respectfully.

Etiquette on the Court

• ⏰ Be on Time – Arrive early and be ready to start at the scheduled time.
• 🚶 Wait for a Break in Play – Don’t walk across another court or behind players until their point is finished.
• 🎯 Respect the Server – Stay still and quiet when someone is serving.
• 📏 Call Lines Fairly – Be honest with line calls. If unsure, give the benefit of the doubt to your opponent.
• 🔔 Use “Let” Calls Clearly – Call “let” promptly if a ball rolls onto the court.
• 🔊 Keep Score Out Loud – Server should announce the score before each point.
• ⚡ Don’t Stall – Be ready between points, avoid unnecessary delays.

🎾 Equipment & Balls

• 🤲 Retrieve Balls Quickly – Pick up balls near you and return them without delay.
• 🎯 Return Balls Properly – Roll or hit balls gently to the server, never blast them back.
• ⏱️ Only Return Balls Once the Point Has Finished – Never return a ball mid-rally; wait until the point ends.
• 🟡 Use Only Your Balls – Don’t collect or hit balls from other courts unless invited.

🤝 Sportsmanship

• 👏 Respect Opponents – Shake hands (or racquets) at the end of the match, win or lose.
• 😌 Control Your Temper – No swearing, racquet throwing, or arguing.
• 💬 Encourage, Don’t Criticize – Support your doubles partner and respect your opponents.
• ✋ Apologize for Net Cords – Acknowledge lucky shots with a hand raise.

🙌 General Courtesy

• 🔇 Keep Noise Down – Be supportive but don’t disrupt nearby courts.
• 📋 Respect Club Rules – Follow dress codes, shoe rules, and booking systems.
• 🧹 Leave the Court Tidy – Take all water bottles, towels, and rubbish with you.
