The Club’s Annual General Meeting was held in July and was well attended with the election of a new committee.
The main priority for the Club continues to be the renewal of the courts which includes increasing the number of pickleball courts to ten, whilst maintaining the existing tennis courts. This allows the Club to expand its pickleball program and position it as a premier outdoor tournament venue.
Pickleball Tasmania anticipates at least one major event could be hosted by the Club which could attract 100 - 150 competitors, providing a solid economic and social benefit for the community.
Other priorities include replacing the existing lights with LEDs and installing integrated gate access technology to allow the booking and payment of courts online. The transition to LED lights is expected to provide energy savings of up to 75%, whilst providing a longer operational life.
We believe these projects will add value to the existing facilities and services on offer at the Latrobe Recreation Area Precinct.
