Seniors
Peninsula Tennis Association (PTA) Senior competition is played during Winter and Summer seasons on Saturday afternoons from 1:00pm (not in school holidays). This competition is suitable for players of all skill levels.
LTC home matches are played at Langwarrin Tennis Club or at Elisabeth Murdoch College.
You must be a financial club member to play in this inter club competition. A year's membership fee covers 2 seasons and an additional competition fee of approximately $20 per person is charged.
This competition offers the following formats:
MIXED DOUBLES: 4 players (2 men & 2 women) play each week. Each person plays one rubber of mens/ladies doubles and one rubber of mixed doubles.
OPEN SINGLES: 2 players per team. Each person plays one singles rubber and one doubles rubber.
NOTE: A rubber consists of the best of 3 sets. Tie-breaks are played at 6 all.
Players are required to wear correct tennis attire including tennis shoes that don't mark the courts (no board shorts or surf gear etc).
Each team, when playing at the home courts, is required to provide light refreshments (soft drinks, sandwiches, biscuits etc.), and is also rostered for light duties, in order to leave the clubrooms clean and tidy. The Team Captain will allocate specific responsibilities.
No matter how bad the weather, you must always turn up for matches unless advised otherwise by the Coordinator.
As with every competition, it's important to let us know if you're unlikely to be able to play all season. Clubs get fined heavily for late team withdrawals.
If you think you might be interested, why not put your name forward as an emergency player. This could give you the opportunity to decide if you'd like to sign up for a whole season. To do this you must not be currently playing Saturday competition for another club.
