CHILD SAFETY COMMITMENT
The Gracedale Park Tennis Club is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children of all ages at the club. In support of Tennis Australia's Safeguarding Children Code of Conduct, our aim is to provide an environment which is welcoming, safe and provides an enjoyable tennis experience. We are committed to protecting children whilst they are at the club.
The Club has a zero-tolerance approach to child harm, abuse and / or neglect in any form and will work towards their protection and making them feel safe. There may be instances which mandated reporting is required to either the tennis governing body and / or state authorities.
It is important that all participants at the Club including parents, our volunteers and committee members recognise this is a shared commitment and obligation in creating a safe and welcoming environment.
- Parents/Guardians are required to stay with their child during competition play and coaching.
- Permission is sought before any video or photography is taken of your child/children. We also check first, before posting on our Club social media.
- All of our Club volunteer Committee members and the Club coaching team have valid Working With Children Checks (WWCC).

MEMBER PROTECTION POLICY
It is recognised that club or community members may raise concerns / complaints that need to be resolved in the interest of maintaining good relationships.
The Club Committee believes that:
- People have the right to have their grievances receive careful consideration through established processes that are timely and based on the principles of fairness and natural justice;
- All parties will be treated with dignity and respect, and underpinned by our values.
- Where a formal complaint is received by the Committee it will be considered in a timely and sensitive manner to achieve an outcome.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Introduction
The Gracedale Park Tennis Club (referred to as the “Club”) Code of Conduct (the “Code”) applies to Committee members, officials, players, members, observers and volunteers. Any person who uses our facilities must abide by our Code.
The Club Code is underpinned by the values of respect, tolerance, inclusion and integrity.
The Club supports an environment which is welcoming of all; respectful of diversity and which provides a safe environment, especially for children and youth.
All club members are expected to behave in a manner which is reflective of our values.
- Behave in a professional and courteous manner to any person who interacts with our Club.
- Act in a manner which creates a safe environment for all people, and must not engage in any behaviour which is offensive or harmful to the physical or mental health of any other person.
- Act responsibly and refrain from behaviour that results in or potentially results in loss or damage to the club facilities or its assets.
- Commit to displaying fair play and sportsmanship in support of our values.
- Behave in a manner which does not take advantage of their position within the Club.
- Demonstrate transparency and not act in a way which creates a perceived or real conflict of interest. Where such a conflict arises, it must be reported to the Committee and be resolved in the Club’s favour.
- Be honest and act with integrity in any dealing with our Club and not act in any prejudicial manner which may bring the club into disrepute.
- Abide by the clubs rules and policies, and of the governing State and National bodies, which have been adopted by the club.
- Accept the decision of the Club committee in matters investigated by club officials pertaining to breaches of the Code, except where the Club’s disciplinary framework expressly provides a right to formal review.
