Membership Rules and Guideline
The Glenroy Community Tennis Club is committed to providing a welcoming and safe environment for all members. These membership rules outline the expectations, responsibilities, and benefits for members of the club. By joining, members agree to abide by these guidelines to ensure fair use and enjoyment of club facilities for everyone.
Eligibility for Membership
- Membership is open to individuals of all ages and skill levels.
- Junior memberships are available for those under 18 years of age.
- Family memberships cover immediate family members living at the same address.
- All prospective members must pay the applicable fees.
Membership Categories
- Adult Social Membership: Open to individuals aged 18 and over. This membership is valid for 12months from sign up date. This membership does not include Competition Fees.
- Junior Social Membership: For individuals under 18 years. This membership is valid for 12months from sign up date. This membership does not include Competition Fees.
- Family Social Membership: Covers two adults and four children under 18 living together. This membership is valid for 12months from sign up date.
Membership Fees
- Annual membership fees are set by the club committee and reviewed each year.
- Fees must be paid in full before membership becomes active.
- Refunds are not provided except in exceptional circumstances, subject to committee approval.
Member Responsibilities
- Respect other members, staff, and visitors at all times.
- Follow all club rules and guidelines, including court booking procedures and use of facilities.
- Wear appropriate tennis attire and footwear when using the courts.
- Keep the club premises clean and tidy; dispose of rubbish responsibly.
- Report any damage or hazards to club officials promptly.
- Ensure guests are signed in and comply with club rules.
Use of Facilities
All members are granted free court hire during the day and discounted evening court hire for the use of the lights. Book via the 'Court Hire' tab on this website.

- Members may only use Club facilities for social play.
- Members are not to permitted to use Club facilities to conduct any coaching or instructional activities, whether formal or informal. This restriction is implemented in accordance with contractual obligations with the designated service provider.
- Non-members may use facilities only as guests, accompanied by a member and subject to guest fees.
- Members are allowed to bring only one non-member to play with them per booking.
- Members must not lend their membership or allow unauthorised access.
- Use of club rooms is not included in membership access.
Conduct and Discipline
- Unsportsmanlike conduct, harassment, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
- The club committee reserves the right to suspend or revoke membership for serious breaches of rules.
- Members have the right to appeal disciplinary actions to the committee.
Club Communication
- Members will receive updates about club events, meetings, and important information via email or posted notices.
Privacy and Data
- Personal information collected is used solely for club administration.
- Members’ privacy is respected in accordance with Australian privacy laws.
Termination of Membership
- Membership may be terminated by the member at any time by notifying the club in writing.
- The club committee may terminate membership for breaches of rules, subject to due process.
Amendments to Rules
- The club committee may update these rules from time to time. Notice will be given to all members.
