Hello again and welcome to the latest edition of Baseline.  I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and let’s hope 2024 is as successful as this year if not more so.

Next year with combined teams with Merlynston and Glenroy who have rejoined the NSJTA, we will be entering five teams in the NSJTA competition. Last season we had premiers in the D1 grade and Runners up in C4 mixed, which was an amazing result for such a small club with only 3 teams.  So proud of all the teams and the way they went.

The new uniforms will be available from 9 January 2024, through a link that I am trying to put on our website so that all interested members can go there and book the items they like.

Coaching is now in recess until late January when we will ramp up preparations for the new season. I would like to express the gratitude of the committee to the coaches for the amazing work they have done over the last 12 months.

Going forwards access to the club is through Book a Court found on the club website. When booking a court, you will receive a code number that will open the gate for you, but which must be used within 15 minutes of your booking time.  That is 15 minutes before or after the booking time, or the code will expire; and the gate will remain locked.

Also when you return to the new year you will see the changes that have been made to the club with new paving and new landscaping work that has been done in the break by the committee members with help from some members.

We ask that all players using the ent te cas courts wear tennis shoes and not joggers or alternative sport shoes to care for the courts.

Going forward in 2024 this will be compulsory. Watering the courts properly before play and after play will also ensure the longevity of our courts and benefit you as members.

All members who have not renewed their memberships please do so upon receiving your reminder from the club. We are growing and our success relies on your support.
