Empire Bay Tennis now offers two coaches to choose from. All coaches are independant contractors and not employees of the club.  Rates may vary.

Wei Lai

 Coach Wei Lai is available for lessons both group and private.

Trained at the Sichuan Sports and Technology Institute in China Wei Lai played as a professional in the Chinese National Youth Tennis Ranking Tournaments where she was ranked in the top 32 nationally for singles and top 16 for doubles.

Later training at the Sichuan Institute for accreditation as a professional tennis coach she remained there for two years to coach future tennis professionals. After returning home to Beijing Lai Lai coached club tennis for a further five years. Moving to Australia in 2019 she now lives in Killcare Heights and is now a Tennis Australia qualified coach

Mark Rawlingson

Mark is a Tennis Australia Level 2 Coach who has coached children, adults and groups for 25 years. His passion for coaching inspires him to continually develop new programs, as well as providing Cardio Tennis (adult small groups), Hot Shots (children’s classes) and video analysis lessons. Mark’s love of playing tennis started at a young age and led to him holding Singles and Doubles Champion titles at Hornsby Kuring-Gai District Tennis Association, and he continues to play competitively at a Club level.

Mark’s extensive experience and skills enable him to tailor lessons to meet individual needs – from those who want to start playing tennis, to those wanting to reach the next level of their game.
