Inclusion, Diversity & Access

East Croydon Kilsyth Tennis Club is committed to being a welcoming, safe, and inclusive club for all. We proudly support Tennis Victoria’s Inclusion Strategy and Access Policy (MERSRS) ensuring our facilities, programs, and governance reflect equity, diversity, and accessibility. We believe tennis can be for everyone and are actively working to make sure every member of our community have the opportunity to participate, belong, and thrive at our club.

Our Commitments

Inclusive Club Culture We are guided by Tennis Victoria’s Inclusion Strategy and by Maroondah Councils & MERSRS Fair Access Policy, which ensures equal opportunity for all community members in local sport and recreation.

Access to Facilities

Parking: An accessible car parking space is available adjacent to the clubhouse. Our car park is an asphalt surface leading to wide concrete pathways.

Courts: All our synthetic courts are accessible via concrete pathways, but courts 1-2 have a light pole positioned in front of the court gate restricting wheelchair access. There is also a small step down onto courts 3-4. Courts 5-6 have no stepdown, a wider court gate and the easier access.

Clubhouse: Access to the clubhouse is via steps only. We are currently working with Maroondah on a clubhouse redevelopment (knockdown/rebuild) which will address all current access issues both external and internal.

Communication We are committed to ensuring all members can access information easily. Our emails and newsletters are written in clear language and standard font sizes.

Inclusive Programs & Events We are proud to offer programs that welcome people of all abilities, including special needs and other adaptive tennis activities. Moving forward, we will expand inclusive and adaptive programs in partnership with Tennis Victoria, community organisations, and the City of Maroondah.

Leadership & Accountability Our committee recognises its responsibility to lead by example. We are committed to embedding inclusion into all decision-making and program planning, and to upholding our role as a community club that is safe, equitable, and welcoming to all.
