New court lights... update

Our members loved the light quality of the new LEDs and so we had to find a way to do courts 3&4. The Clifton Springs Golf Club generously contributed towards this project and we now have LEDs on all the Club courts.

We now have an outstanding night tennis venue and a further reduction in our carbon footprint.

The Club has recently upgraded the lights on courts 1&2 to LEDs. These consume less than 40% of the power of the older lamps and the night players are enjoying the quality of the light output.

The City of Greater Geelong has generously approved a grant for 66% of the funding for this project.

This is one of several actions we have taken to reduce our energy usage. We have changed the interior lights to LEDs, and removed the on-demand water heater from the kitchen.

We have replaced the soft drinks refrigerator with a filtered water dispenser and replaced the large water heater in the storeroom with a smaller, more efficient heater. We received grants from the Victorian Government to assist with these two projects.

The Club will continue to look for opportunities to reduce our energy consumption and to look for grants that will assist us with these projects. This will help us to keep our fees at an affordable level and to reduce the carbon footprint of our Club.
