Clifton vs Warwick Interclub Challenge

The 1st round of Clifton vs Warwick was held at the Clifton Tennis Club on Sunday 10th September.  Congratulations to the Clifton players who defeated Warwick 131 – 88 games.  (more photos in photo gallery)

Senior Fixture Finals

The Senior Fixture finals were held on Saturday 9th September. Congratulations to Doubleshots team of Ted, Jaeden, Col and Andi who defeated Lucky Shots team of Shirley, Jamie, Michael and Dan in the final 30 games to 23.  (more photos in photo gallery)

Secondary High Schools Competition

Congratulations to 5 of our Junior members who competed for Clifton High School at the Secondary High Schools Competition on the 4th August 2017.  The boys played extremely well and finished the day in 2nd position behing a very strong Toowoomba Grammar.  Well done Jack, Corey, Hayden, Darcy & Jaeden.

Thank you to all those who attended our Opening Day today.  A great day was had by all and a special thanks to Councillors Geoff McDonald, Anne Glasheen, TRC Sport and Recreation Grants officer Meghan Cox, Emma Creighton from Tennis Qld and to our tennis club patron Bert Morris. Adult Social fixtures are now underway. Tuesday nights are social singles and doubles for mens and ladies.  Sign on 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Cost is $10 per player to cover ball fees and lights.

New Kitchen now completed thanks to Tennis Qld Rural Sustainability Grant.  Thanks for a great job Allora Joinery!!

FACILITY UPGRADE in progress:

A big thank you to Toowoomba Regional Council and the Qld Community Benefit Fund for their considerable grant support to our Club.

Court resurfacing of courts 3 & 4 is now complete.  Fencing and lighting project is also now complete.  Upgrade is looking fantastic and we are really impressed with the lighting.  Please check out the photos in Gallery.

Congratulations to Clifton players who participated in the 2nd Warwick-Clifton Interclub Challenge on Saturday 19th November 2016 which was held in Warwick.    Teams of Juniors, ladies and men’s battled it out and Clifton came home convincing winners 41 games – 23.   What a great effort by all players and we thank Warwick Tennis Club for their hospitality on the day.  We look forward to defending our title again early in the New Year.

Trip to Pat Rafter Arena Brisbane

On Sunday 13th November 2016, a bus load of Clifton players attended the Pat Rafter Arena for the hiring of the main Arena.  This prize was won by Billy Mutch at the Farmers Day and Billy kindly invited a group of tennis club members to join him.  Everyone had a chance to have a game on the main arena and feel like superstars for the day – even the ladies had a game.  Thank you to Tennis Qld and Hutchinson Builders for the loan of the bus and to Michael for driving the bus on the day.  What a great, enjoyable day!!!

Family Fun Day/Casino Night was held on Saturday 5th November 2016.   We had 16 teams participate in this fantastic day followed by a BBQ and some fun casino style games in the clubhouse after dinner.  This was a very enjoyable day with some great raffle prizes and something different for the members to enjoy.
