🎾 Candelo Tennis Club Terms and Conditions
1. General Club Membership
By registering as a member and playing competitions for the Candelo Tennis Club (the Club), you understand and agree to the following:
- Online Registration and Communications: You will become a registered member on the online tennis platform, Clubspark, and will be set up with an online profile. As a registered member, you will receive administrative communications from the Club. You may also receive direct marketing communications from Tennis Australia/Tennis NSW. You can unsubscribe from direct marketing by changing the settings in your Clubspark profile.
- Fees and Insurance: Affiliation fees, including those associated with insurance (Tennis NSW), are included in the annual membership fee.
- Voting Rights: Members over the age of 18 years old hold voting rights and are eligible to vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
- Club Discretion: The Club may reject your membership application, accept it but impose certain conditions, or vary, suspend, or cancel your membership during the membership term in its sole discretion. This would most likely be actioned on not following court rules, and or allowing a non-member to play without booking payment.
2. Social Competition
- Social Competition Members: Social competition members of the Club are required to have a club membership in conjunction with the social competition fees for each competition they wish to join.
3. General Membership Terms
- Membership Pricing: Membership fees are set based on 12 months and renewed each year at the time of sign-up and are subject to review. Changes are generally announced and voted on at the discretion of the Committee.
- Refund Policy:
- Membership fees are non-refundable (even if a membership is varied, suspended, or cancelled) and membership is not transferable.
- If a player experiences a mid-season injury that prevents them from playing for the remainder of the season, they can request a partial refund for their fees. This request must be made in writing to the Club Secretary, outlining the reason. The refund is at the discretion of the Club Committee.
4. Use of Club Facilities and Safety
- Tennis Purposes Only: You are not permitted to use the tennis courts at the venue for any activity other than recreational tennis.
- Coaching: Professional coaching on the tennis courts may not take place, other than by Club coaches or approved persons, who have the prior written agreement from the Club.
- Player Etiquette:
- Please leave the courts as you found them, with the gate securely locked.
- No maintenance equipment on the courts is to be used in any other way than its intended use by the manufacturer.
- For public health, smoking or drinking alcohol is not permitted within the venue, including on the tennis courts.
- Footwear: All players must wear non-marking shoes to preserve the courts. Players may be asked to change shoes if wearing incorrect footwear.
- Court Night Lights: Tokens are to be used strictly for activating the court lights and must not be removed from the Club premises. Immediately after play, the court key must be securely returned to the designated lock box.
- Social Behaviour and Conduct: Swearing and aggressive language are strictly prohibited, especially when the adjacent preschool is in session. The Club is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all users, including those in neighboring facilities. Any complaints received regarding inappropriate language or aggressive conduct will be investigated and may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or cancellation of membership, at the discretion of the Club Committee.
- Safety:
- Users of the tennis courts undertake to always use the facilities safely and cautiously.
- In wet weather, the courts are considered closed and all bookings in this climate should be cancelled.
- Risk Warning: You acknowledge that by using the tennis courts you will be exposed to certain risks, including the risk of physical injury, and that use of the courts is entirely at your own risk. You have voluntarily read and understood this risk warning and accept and assume the inherent risks in the use of the courts.
5. Privacy and Promotional Use
- Privacy: You consent to the collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with the tennis privacy statement and the tennis privacy policy.
- Promotional Consent: Photographs and videos may be taken of you and/or your child for Club promotional use. This may include, but is not limited to, printed materials (brochures, newsletters), videos, and digital images used on the Candelo Tennis Club website and social media pages (such as Facebook), and for fundraising events.
