New multi-purpose facility undergoing initial testing before becoming fully operational!

The new multi-puurpose facility is now partially open, full operations and a formal launch to be arranged as soon as our much awaited bottle refilling station funded by our local Council (QPRC) arrives and is installed and a few other tasks are attended to - expected soon. Here's a photograph of members of four teams playing in our term based nightly social competition enjoying the new facility on 6 February 2025. Unfortunately comp play scheduled to happen on 5 February had to be called off because the courts were still wet from the hail that wreaked havoc in Bungendore earlier in the day. Fast 4 Friday players enjoyed the new facility on 7 February and Tuesday social and Monday night social tennis players have also been enjoying the new facility. The new bathroom has been available for while now and is accessible to everyone using the new facility.

There has been a positive reaction to the new multi-purpose facility and already suggestions on how some new additions could make the facility even better are starting to flow through. For example, members have suggested a shelf to leave handbags, one parent of child having lessons has suggested hooks on the outside of the clubhouse for kids to hang their bags while another person suggested replacing the existing power point that doesn't have the correct charging point for mobile phones. The 2025 Committee will be considering all suggestions and feedback at its first ordinary meeting after the Annual General Meeting on 18 February 2025. Please email your suggestions to  bungendoreparktennisclub@gmail.com

The Committee will soon be writing to local sporting and other commmunity groups about using the new clubhouse for meetings.  Members should look out for their next MY TENNIS CLUB email for details on how to access the new clubhouse as part of their membership package.

In the meantime, the Club is extremely grateful to the following funding organisations and people who made the new clubhouse possible:

NSW Government

Communiy Bank Bungendore

Veolia Mulwaree Trust

Queanbyean - Palerang Regional Council

Rotary Club of Bungendore

IGA Bungendore (for the sausage sizzle fund raisers)

Haymes Paint for heavily discounted paint for the entire internal paint job

BRural for discounted materials

The Gubas family for painting the exterior of the Clubhouse at no cost

Eric Martin & Associates - for architectural drawings and project management services provided at no cost

Kerrie Crane for donating a new fridge

The Benders for donating a table tennis table for club activities

The Duffy family for dionating a big LED TV so we can watch free to air tennis!

And all the unpaid volunteers who did things like put up a temporary entry to allow access during construction, erected a storage shed for use by the coaching services provider, restored the paved area and created a new pebble filled area and new seat adjacent to Club entry and maintained the garden throughout! Thank you Andy, Robert and Keith!
