Braidwood retains Palerang Cup

The ever improving COVID outlook in country NSW saw the Palerang inter-club tennis match being held this month. A lovely spring day on the second Sunday in November set the stage for twelve players from Bungendore Park Tennis Club to slug it out against another twelve players from Braidwood Tennis Club for the prestigious Palerang Cup.

It was Braidwood's turn to host the event this year and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. The action started fast on the freshly groomed synthetic courts and the two sides fought hard through a total of 18 sets. It was Braidwood that triumphed in the end, winning 11 sets to 7. Just in time to host a wonderful sausage sizzle which capped off a great day! Big thanks to Braidwood and thanks to organisers Kate (Bungendore) and Jenny (Braidwood). Bungendore looks forward to having another crack next year when it will host the Palerang Cup on its expanded four court community tennis facility.

See you next year Michael, Jenny and the rest of Team Braidwood!
