We hope you and your family are well and you're enjoying your weekend. Just a short update on work that's about to get underway on our new playing areas/practice wall and to remind you of some upcoming club events/tennis activities.
1. Facility Upgrade – 4th Court, Hot Shots court & practice wall
Big thanks go to all our volunteers who helped move pavers, remove koppers log posts and chicken wire, relocate the tap and cut out some concrete in preparation for work on our new playing areas and practice wall. Mickey's car winch made short work of even the most stubborn of our old koppers log posts. If you or anyone knows of anyone who wants some old bricks (from the old BBQ) and concrete pieces, going for free, please let us know.
Safety fencing is due to be installed this Monday, 18 January 2021 and earthworks are scheduled to start this Thursday, 21 January 2021. Court #3 will be blocked out during the day for the three days while the earthworks are being carried out. Things should move fairly quickly once the earthworks are completed with concrete expected to be poured towards the end of January/early February followed by work on the practice wall and shade structure.
As well as notifying the Council, we've prepared an article for this week's Regional Independent to inform the community about the tennis facility upgrade work and its impact on the cricket nets. Thank you in advance for all your patience and understanding while this significant club project is completed in the weeks ahead.

2. Annual General Meeting, 23 February, 7pm @ Clubhouse - Help to make a Difference!
A reminder that all club committee positions will be declared vacant at the 2021 Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 23 February 2021. An email, was sent to all members on 22 December 2020, outlining the nomination, seconding and acceptance processes for people wanting to volunteer their time to work on the 2021 BPTC Committee. All nominations must be emailed to bungendoreparktennisclub (Attention: Club Secretary) by 5 February 2021.

3. Autumn Canberra Tennis League – Entries close 3 February 2021
Entries are open now for The Walking Clinic Autumn Adult Canberra Tennis League season. There are a range of days and formats, that will suit every player;
Monday/Tuesday Night League; offers players a mixture of singles and doubles in a quick format. Thursday Night League; a great option for players wanting to play doubles.
Saturday League; the recently introduced singles matches, suits players wishing to play the longer format.
Register as a team or as an individual through Match Centre today.

4. Term 1 Comp Starts 26 January 2021 (10 weeks) Hurry up and get your team entry in!
Ten teams have so far entered our first school term based 10 week social night competition due to start on 26 January 2021 - who would have thought we'd be starting our first club comp before the start of the Australian Open?...Extraordinary times.

5. RSTA coaching services resume soon!
All of Rising Star tennis Academy's terrific coaching programs and activities are set to resume in Bungendore (including Fast4 Fridays, Cardio Tennis and all of the kids programs) when school returns in the week beginning 25 January 2021.
Remember RSTA also sells new racquets, offers a racquet restringing and regripping service and can supply you with a replacement dampner.
