History

Broulee Tennis and Social Club has a long history in Broulee, the courts and club house having been built by its members in 1978.

For many years President Yola Roach had run the club with the assistance of club members like Marge McDonald and Merrilyn Murphy. A new era began in 1996 when the old committee retired and a new committee was elected under new President Marie Barrett-Eyles. Marie had a background in badminton and had only been playing tennis for a couple of years, and would remain President until her own retirement in 2018. Marie and her husband Tony had also been responsbile for tennis court hire over many of those years. and both were awarded life memberships of the club for their contributions.

Tennis in the Eurbodalla was at its peak in 1997 when Broulee Tennis & Social Club had over 80 members with over 40 members playing on local competitions under the Eurobodalla Ladies Tennis Association.

With a new commitee elected in 2018, Broule Tennis & Social Club is working to attract local residents and travellers back to tennis and is looking to hold additional social tennis events in the future.
