Conditions of Entry

Tournament Conditions

  1. The Tennis Australia and Tennis West code of Conduct and Behaviour Code shall apply and be displayed prominently at the courts for perusal by competitors. The referee or an appointed deputy has the final decision on any matter over play, and may impose penalties under both or either codes.
  2. The committee reserves the right to disqualify any competitor whose conduct during the tournament in their opinion is deserving of the censure.
  3. Online entry form and payment must be submitted and received by the tournament coordinator by 31st March 2023.
  4. No player may leave the courts without checking match times with the tournament committee.
  5. Players must be available to play on all four days of the tournament. Except entrants in Special Events, See Condition 26.
  6. Players may enter in no more than three events. Players may enter in both championship and handicap events.
  7. Any player remaining in three events at the commencement of play on the final day may be required to scratch from one. This will only be enforced if absolutely necessary to finalise the tournament.
  8. The committee does not undertake to provide umpires, except in the case of Under 11 events whereby umpires will be allocated by the tournament committee as deemed necessary.
  9. If a player fails to appear when called upon to play, he or she may be forfeited from the event at the discretion of the match committee and the referee. Game penalties will apply to timed matches where a player arrives late or fails to appear. Scheduled times are a guide only and subject to change.
  10. Tennis Attire: The Tennis West code for tennis attire shall apply.
  11. The match schedule will be posted online.
  12. The format for championship events will be determined by the match committee according to the number of entrants in each event.
  13. Competitors in 45+ events must be 45 years of age or over on the first day of the tournament.
  14. Competitors in junior events must be the specified age or younger on the first day of the tournament. Minimum age for junior events is 9 years on the first day of the tournament.
  15. No one may advise a competitor during the playing of the match or an official break.
  16. No spectators are allowed on the court at any time.
  17. Play shall be continuous. The only exceptions will be as the referee, in his discretion, agrees.
  18. Courts other than club courts may be used. An event may be played on any court.
  19. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to reject any entry and shall not be required to give reasons for such rejection. The number of entries accepted is limited.
  20. Trophies may not be collected prior to the presentation ceremony.
  21. If necessary, any event will be held in divisions.
  22. If there are insufficient entries for any event, players may be transferred to another event.
  23. Any event may be converted to a knock-out format.
  24. In the event of a drawn winner of a handicap event, if a winner is not decided by timed games (drawn games and percentage) then the deciding factor is the head to head result. If the head to head result is drawn, a tie-breaker will be played to determine the winner of the event.
  25. Entry fees will not be refunded for any entrant who withdraws from the tournament after the draw has commenced.
  26. Entrants in our 90th Year Special Event - Mixed Handicap Doubles- understand that they cannot play in any other events and that this event will be run on Easter Sunday only.
