Club History

Our vast history dates back to 1908 when the tennis club was first formed. The adjacent sports ground was previously known as the Armadale Recreation Ground and had been used for sport and recreation during that time. The years of World War One, the oval hosted sports carnivals to raise funds for troop comforts.

The Armadale Recreation Ground was later renamed to Gwynne Park in honour of the Gwynne family, early residents of the area. In the 1970s, a large scale development of Gwynne Park was completed which included four new tennis courts..
