What an afternoon!!

WDTA’s Junior Club Championships have now finished. Over the 4 hours, 35 players competed in 101 matches across 11 courts. Players were ranging from 4 years old through to 16 years old! It was a fantastic afternoon and I hope all the players, parents and spectators enjoyed their afternoon. The tournament was split into Red ball, Orange ball and Yellow ball. Congratulations to all players as each and every one of you displayed exemplary sportsmanship, kindness and behaviour throughout the afternoon. The results are as follows:

Red ball

Winner: Angus Hamilton

Runner-Up: Maggie Stevens

Orange ball

Winner: Kobi Millard

Runner-Up: Bailey Demamiel

Yellow ball

Winner: Sophie Strom

Runner-Up: Maddison Dorries

I would also like to sincerely thank Danny Lyons Sports for donating our raffle prizes for tonight’s raffle. The first prize of a Yonex tennis bag went to Sophie Strom and the second prize of, tennis balls, kids racquet, and keyrings, was won by Hamish Jones. Congratulations to both players!!

As part of our Club Championships this year, we also had Domino’s Warwick provide us with pizzas throughout the afternoon. The club would also like to thank Domino’s for providing these and keeping all the energetic players full of food!!

Again, thank you to all the players, parents and spectators that came down to the club today and I wish all the players the best of luck throughout their last coaching week of term 3.
