Junior competition information for players and parents
- Advise your coach if you are interested in playing competition.
- Coach will email the schedule to you for the season.
- There are two seasons a year.You will be put into a suitable section/division for your ability.
- Register with Tennis Australia to get your ID.
- Register with Universal for UTR ranking.
- Team captain's parent will set up a What's App group for your team. Communication chat or emails check all members of the team are included
- Send a notification of the schedule/venue/time/who is playing/who is filling in on Friday nights.
- Arrive 15 minutes early to warm up and fill in the score sheet.
- Court allocations are noted on each scoresheet. Use only the allocated courts.
- Balls and score sheets will be on the table in the downstairs clubroom.
- Start on time.
- Play is doubles then singles. Start one doubles and one singles if one person is running late. Can play doubles with 3 if missing a player that day, will effect scores.
- Emergency players must write "emergency" on scoresheet.
- No sideline coaching or interference from parents or spectators.
- Players score themselves bag the courts before and after each match. Water and bag in warm windy weather.
- When matches are finished return balls and the scoresheets back to the downstairs clubroom.
- Write down any incidents on the scoresheet and let Diego know that day.
- one parent needs to volunteer for each home game to Marshal.
Playing
- Start on time.
- When scoring ... if in doubt, call the ball in.
- If both players are uncertain or there is an unresolved argument, replay the point. You must be invited to the other side of the net to see a ball mark to avoid issues.
- Line calls should be clearly called out. Circle the ball mark if it is close to a line.
- Play fairly and enjoy your tennis.
- Fill out the scoresheet, check results and team captains must send screenshot to Diego before 7.00pm Sunday.
Team marshall
- Your committee is here to help, ask any questions via email or ask your marshal Team Captains need to check with their team who is available each Friday. This person must be there for the entire match time or hand over to another parent.
- Team marshall duties include taking out the rules/welcome board, welcoming the opposition, allocating courts, locking up, switching lights/heating/cooling off.
- Coaches are not present during competition as they are coaching.
- Parents and players need to be organised. Players know what to do. Be a good sport, you represent your club and team, play by the rules, stay and support your team and have fun.
