Junior Competition
SATURDAY AM COMPETITION
The METC conduct a weekly home & away junior tennis competition as part of the Eastern Region Tennis Association Saturday morning fixture.
It is open to players 18 years of age and under who are members of our club.
The competition is seasonal and is comprised of a Summer and a Winter season.
Competition starts at 8.30am and kids are graded into teams according to their ability rather than their age.
It is a great deal of fun and a fantastic way for kids to get out and enjoy some exercise whilst interacting with their peers.

SUNDAY AM RED AND ORANGE BALL COMPETITION
The Red Ball competition is tennis in a modified format targeted at children 9 years of age or under using the heavily modified red tennis ball.
It is an introduction to competition tennis for our very youngest players.
The competition was the brainchild of our own club coach Matt O’Toole who in conjunction with Cynthia McKenzie of the Eastern Region Tennis Association introduced the format in what was a hugely successful trial season in late 2017.
As a result of that success the Eastern Region Tennis Association now offers this competition in both a Winter and Summer fixture.
The Winter season is to be held in terms 2 & 3 whilst the Summer Season is in Terms 4 & 1 of the school year.
It is a Sunday morning competition for club members which sees teams of 3 kids playing against kids from other clubs in a best of 6 game set all within the confines of the court’s service boxes.
Each child plays two sets with sudden death at Deuce using the modified red tennis ball.
As this is a development competition there is some room for parents to become involved if they wish to.
The Orange Ball competition is also a modified game with modified court size, balls and scoring. This competition is for children aged 11 and under.
