Want to know more about this wonderful new sport?

Pickleball is a paddle sport, played on a badminton-sized court, with a ball similar to a wiffle ball. The game can be played as singles (two) players or doubles (four) players.

Some of the basics:

• The serve is hit underarm, below the waist, and diagonally across the court (similar to tennis); beginning with the player on the right.
• The serving player continues to serve until their team faults. Both players serve, before the serve goes to the opposition (Eg: server 1, server 2; then it goes to the opposition).
• Points are only awarded to the serving team.
• The ball must bounce on the first 2 returns (once by the opponent, then by the serving team).
• No volleys are allowed until the first 2 returns are completed.
• There are NO net points... if the services (or any other ball) tips the top of the net and lands in a playable space, the game continues.
• The "Kitchen" is the area on each side of the net, that runs across the court. This is also known as "Non-Volley Zone".
• The game is played to 11 points, with win by 2 points. Eg: 11-9, 15-13 etc
