GREEN GULLY TENNIS CLUB HISTORY

The Club was formed in 1977, when the Kealba Progress Association called a meeting of interested residents to discuss the setting up of a Tennis Club in the area. For two years the members used the courts at the Kealba High School, and after long negotiations with the Keilor Commissioner of the time, our own courts were constructed. The first two were handed over in December 1979, and the next two in January 1980. Since that time the members have expanded the facilities and added two more porous courts and four new mod grass courts. This has occurred due to funding by Green Gully Soccer Club and a SRV Grant.. December 2010 saw the opening of two state of the art plexi-cushion courts – the exact same surface used at Melbourne Park for the Australian Open.
